It is amazing how simple joys in life undo small nuances! Leo is starting to talk, saying B words like baby, ba-ooon (balloon), boool (ball), and this evening while he was eating a banana, he screamed out b-nana!!! These moments overjoy me and become memories I will treasure ...

Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose. {from the television show The Wonder Years}

Inspiration: miniatures from the flea market ... Today, I found this miniature cast iron stove. I was told by the man I bought it from that those who bought a full size stove, could buy or were given one of these.

Also, I found these miniature bottled ships that I want to incorporate into some new portraits, a sort of nautical theme maybe?

I love Cursive Design. Designer Sarah Fox, who lives and works in Chicago, designs jewelry and home accessories that focus on intricate details and natural forms. Her inspiration derives from the juxtaposition of unusual materials and the unique moments in nature. I especially like her jewelry - how she combines beads, chain and crochet into one. You can see some of her creations below ...

Happy Autumn!!! Some of my autumn inspired art ...

Rainy days ... It is gray and drizzly outside ... I had a craft and colouring day planned for Leo and I, but he proved to be too young - I had to take the crayons away from him, he was eating them ...

Just outside my door, this kale plant is hanging on, it's one of our last plants thriving in this dull weather ...

This past summer, D and I got engaged ... we are excited to have a photo shoot with Blair Marie in a few weeks. Once the leaves start changing colour, we're all going on a nature walk so she can snap some engagement photos. I'll post the pictures once we get them!

Today, I photographed some more still-lifes and redid the letters for Leo ... I am happier with these - they turned out more clear... and I framed the 'L' for Leo ...

Today, we went for a long walk, I love autumn for its twigs and berries, like rose hips, snowberries, dogwood, etc. These were just a few along our journey today ...

It's fall, back to the books ... I'm taking another hiatus from blogging... this time to work on my thesis MAKE:PLAY. Since I am starting back to work soon I need to give it all I've got until then!
